At the end of this course, you will be able to:

1. Understand the mandate of the Law Society of British Columbia's Trust Assurance Department

2. Discuss the professional obligation that lawyers and professional staff have in handling client trust funds in light of the new firm regulation regime

3. Explain the key concepts in trust accounting

4. Understand how to correctly receive and withdraw trust funds

5. Understand how to properly handle cash transactions

6. Demonstrate how to correctly reconcile pooled trust accounts

7. Understand the annual trust report filing requirements

8. Apply the Trust Administration Fee (TAF) to applicable trust deposits, and

9. Prepare for a Compliance Trust Audit

This 7 hour course focuses on professional responsibility, ethics, client care and relations.
