Description:

As of June 1, 2017, the monetary jurisdiction for small claims cases in Provincial Court has been increased to $35,000 and simplified trials at Richmond and Robson Square now include cases up to $10,000.

Join Provincial Court of BC Judge Paul Meyers as he talks about Self-Represented Litigants that appear before Small Claims Court. Learn the key rules. in helping them complete the forms and file online. Judge Meyers will cover the mechanics of the pilot project in the Robson Square and Richmond Courthouses.

Develop best practices on how to help SRLs prepare for their appearance including Support Person Guidelines.


CPD: 1.5 hours including 1 hour in client relations, ethics and professional responsibility.
