How to Apply to the CRT to Resolve Strata Property Disputes (ACL CRT 101)

Description:

This presentation will include an overview of the Civil Resolution Tribunal (CRT) and its jurisdiction over strata disputes with a focus on the on-line application process. The Solution Explorer is the first step in the CRT process. Learn how it gives users free legal information and self-help tools. You will also learn about how it allows users to apply to the CRT for dispute resolution right from the Solution Explorer. 

Strata disputes involve a wide variety of issues between strata owners, tenants, sections of a strata, and strata corporations, such as:

  • Interpretation of the Strata Property Act, Regulations, bylaws or rules
  • Issues regarding common property or assets of the strata corporation
  • Money owning, including strata fees, special levies and fines
  • Unfair actions, threatened actions or decisions of the strata, strata council, section or executive
  • The exercise of voting rights by a person holding more than half of the votes at a general meeting

CPD: 1.5 hours including 0 hour in client relations, ethics and professional responsibility.
